Stamped Asphalt is a construction method that can be applied either on freshly placed asphalt during road works or on an existing asphalt road after heating its surface so the selected pattern can be printed.
After the laying and levelling of the new asphalt or the heating of the existing asphalt, a passage is performed with a road roller that carries a metallic stencil tool and in this way gives to the asphalt the selected pattern and texture.
The colouring of the asphalt is achieved with the use STONECRETE TRAFFIC PAINT, which must be applied on clean surfaces free from loose materials and dirt, with the selected colour. New asphalt surfaces must be sufficiently matured to be free of oils on the surface (4-8 weeks). The product can be applied by spraying or by roller. Further waterproofing of the surface with penetrating sealer is optional.
With the application of STONECRETE TRAFFIC PAINT, the road surface gets strengthened and its endurance in heavy use is secured. Furthermore, the elasticity of the product offers great waterproofing qualities at the applied surface and contributes to the prevention of cracking formation and detachments.
A great variety of pattern and colour combinations is available, resulting to a strengthened road surface of high aesthetics. STONECRETE TRAFFIC PAINT is available in 30 standard colour shades, new colours can be manufactured upon request, and at the same time it is available within the STONECRETE COOL SERIES range of products, with exceptional reflective qualities.
